Nordic Walking has opened my eyes to the wonder of my feet. Nearly a quarter of our body’s bones are in our feet. Each foot is made up of a staggering 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments. They work sweetly together to gift us movement, stability and support for all the other parts of our body stacked on top of them. All the while, often ignored.

After joining one of our Nordic walking tasters or Beginner’s workshops, perhaps all you will remember afterwards are the tips to:

  • Squeeze a lemon under your foot when walking.
  • Give attention to your posture.

Well, you would get a thumbs up from us. Both these tips can be used in ordinary walking as well as day-to-day life.

Your foot is involved in almost every non-sitting activity you do. Squeezing lemons will help keep your foot mobile, benefit your general movement and your overall physical health.
