We are often invited to run Nordic walking tasters for groups, but the taster Subitha and Fred recently ran for the local Bangladesh Association Men’s Health Group resulted in this YouTube sensation, the first minute of which is Nordic walking explained in Bengali.
Not only does the video bring us joy but so equally does the outcome of the taster: the Bangladesh Association immediately asked about future regular Nordic walking classes for the group, without delay.
We have been supporting them with a funding application to make this happen. Many of the men are family carers of someone with a long term health condition, as well as paid work, so a regular Nordic walk in a local park would be a precious opportunity to enjoy a fun and social activity, outdoors and with added health and wellbeing benefits.
